Irony of Ironies

So I’m sitting here, reading with great interest the advertising copy for a diet pill — and doing my level best to ignore the skimpy bikini the model’s wearing — while eating a bag of cheese curls. Life doesn’t get more ironic than that. Well, maybe it does. I did have a friend who once ordered the Tae Bo videos and then sat down on the couch with a bowl of popcorn to watch them. So maybe I’m not so bad, but I’m getting there.

Life is a day to day struggle. And I fall on my face … a lot. But I get up, dust the junk food particles off my shirt and “try, try again.” Because, ultimately, that’s what it’s all about. I mean, seriously, we’re gonna have bad days. My bad days are in abundance, but I’m hoping that by simply trying — and not giving up — the ratio of good days to bad days will increase to the point that the bad days are in the minority.

I’ve got friends that encourage me, and that’s more helpful than I can put to words. Heck, one of them I’ve never even met face to face. But we’re there for each other. And the pounds are coming off slowly. But Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was this hunky body … I mean “chunky.” *cough!* So rebuilding it is necessarily going to take some time.

I’m mostly sticking to the paradigm shift I’ve set up — minus the cheese curls — but I need to stick closer, obviously. But today, they tasted really good.

Note to self: Wash your hands after eating cheese curls, or the keyboard turns orange. Doh!
